On December 7 of this year, it is planned to convene a UN conference on climate change in Copenhagen. The conference will be devoted to the problem of ecology associated with the extermination of animals and the use of their meat as food. In this regard, a petition will be filed by the initiators of the conference. The main arguments that they put forward are that intentional animal breeding throws a huge amount of gases into the air, which all the cars of the world cannot produce. The petition states that for the production of 257 hamburgers, a whole football field of tropical forests is cut down. An incredible amount of water is used for 1 kg of meat – up to 40 thousand liters. In addition, it is argued that livestock breeders use 70% of the land suitable for agricultural needs. Do not mention hunger that devastates the cities of third world countries. The organizers posted on the Internet a video dedicated to the listed problems and intend to collect 10 thousand votes in their support. 10 thousand – a fairly small figure. But if the initiators set just such a goal, then, of course, they will achieve it. But will this change the problem of ecology?
